Obverse description Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, viewed from the rear, wearing a radiate crown with prominent rays and elaborate military cuirass with pteryges visible at the shoulder. The emperor's curly hair and short beard are rendered with fine detail consistent with his mature portraiture. The encircling Greek legend runs along the beaded border of the flan.

Reverse description Eagle displayed, seen frontally with wings fully spread, head turned to the right and tail feathers similarly oriented, holding a wreath in its beak. Between the eagle's legs is a small tetrastyle shrine or naiskos with a pediment, a characteristic reverse type of the Edessene coinage. The Greek legend is arranged in two lines across the upper and lower fields, divided by the eagle's body.
