Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, shown from behind with paludamentum visible at shoulder. The emperor's characteristic beard is rendered in fine detail, with curling hair swept forward over the brow in the Hadrianic style. The surrounding legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, inscribed within a beaded border.
