Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, seen from the rear, with beard rendered in fine detail characteristic of Hadrianic portraiture. The emperor's drapery falls over the left shoulder in a paludamentum arrangement. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy in the field.

Reverse description Tetrastyle temple set upon a podium of three or four steps, within which stands the cult statue of Artemis Ephesia (Diana of Ephesus) depicted frontally in the distinctive multi-breasted or multi-orbed iconographic type. The architectural rendering shows columns with Ionic capitals and a pediment above. The reverse legend is divided across the field identifying the deity and cult centre.
