| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in the characteristic Roman imperial portrait style with short curled hair and neatly trimmed beard. The effigy displays a strong, idealized physiognomy typical of Hadrianic portraiture. The surrounding legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief against a flat field. |
