Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, with short beard rendered in fine detail. The emperor's effigy displays the characteristic strong features associated with Caracalla's portraiture, including a furrowed brow and squared jaw. The circular Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, reading from left to right. The portrait is executed in the provincial style typical of Mesopotamian civic coinage of the Severan period.
