Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, depicted in flight moving to the left, her wings spread open behind her. She is shown in a long chiton with flowing drapery, arms outstretched, holding a wreath in her extended hand. The regnal date L Α (Year 1, corresponding to 69 AD) appears in the field, marking the first and only year of Vitellius's reign as recognized in Alexandria. The composition is typical of Alexandrian provincial tetradrachm-series reverse types of the Julio-Claudian and early Flavian periods.
