| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted from the rear, showing the back of the cuirass and paludamentum. The emperor's characteristic curly hair and beard are visible beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Greek legend is divided on either side of the effigy, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ - ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ, abbreviating his imperial titulature. The portrait is rendered in the refined Alexandrian style typical of the early Hadrianic period. |
