| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, portrayed with his characteristic short beard, the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the three-quarter rear view convention typical of Alexandrian provincial coinage of this period. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ, abbreviating his imperial titulature. The finely modelled portrait reflects the high standard of the Alexandrian mint's celators under Hadrian's reign. |
