Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian II facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Alexandrian mint, with carefully delineated layering of the cuirass and drapery. The encircling Greek legend reads partially around the obverse field, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature.
