Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Claudius facing right, with characteristic elongated neck and portrait features typical of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΤΙ ΚΛΑΥΔΙ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒΑ ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙ ΑΥΤΟΚΡ, identifying him as Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus Imperator. The regnal year date L Ε (Year 5, corresponding to 44–45 AD) appears in the lower right field. The portrait is rendered in the local Alexandrian artistic style, with short wavy hair and a slightly rough, expressive treatment of the facial features.
