| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial style of the Alexandrian mint. The emperor's effigy displays characteristic curling hair beneath the laurel wreath, with visible drapery at the truncation of the shoulder. The circumferential Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ, abbreviated imperial titulature acknowledging his victories over Germania and Dacia. The flan shows typical irregularity associated with hand-hammered provincial coinage of the period. |
