| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the front, displaying the characteristic military paludamentum over the cuirass. The Imperial effigy is depicted with short-cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath, with the legend encircling the portrait in Greek majuscules. The die workmanship is typical of the Alexandrian provincial tetradrachm series, with a bold if somewhat provincial rendering of the Imperial portrait. |
