Reverse description Athena seated left on a high-backed throne, her right hand extended holding a small Nike bearing a wreath, and her left hand grasping a long sceptre. A large round shield rests against the left side of the throne. The regnal year date L Γ (Year 3) appears prominently in the left field, a characteristic feature of Alexandrian coinage used to denote the year of the emperor's reign. The composition is rendered in the bold, flat relief characteristic of Roman provincial tetradrachms struck at Alexandria.
