| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with short curled beard rendered in the characteristic Severan style. The emperor's effigy is rendered in high relief with detailed treatment of the laurel wreath and drapery folds at the shoulder. The Greek imperial legend surrounds the bust, reading from upper left around the periphery of the flan. |
