Obverse description Radiate bust of Emperor Nero facing right, wearing an aegis on the left shoulder, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style. The portrait displays the characteristic fleshy features of Nero's later coinage, with radiating spikes of the crown clearly delineated. The Greek legend ΝΕΡΩ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡ — abbreviating Nerōn Klaudios Kaisar Sebastos Germanikos — is disposed around the bust in the field.
