Obverse description Radiate bust of Emperor Nero facing left, wearing the aegis across the chest, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The radiate crown consists of multiple pointed rays emanating from the head, a device associating the emperor with solar divinity. The Greek legend ΝΕΡΩ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡ ΑΥ surrounds the effigy, with the Alexandrian regnal date L ΙΓ (year 13, corresponding to 66–67 AD) visible in the field. The portrait displays the characteristic broad facial features associated with Neronian coinage from the Alexandrian mint.
