| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic short beard and curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ - ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ, identifying Hadrian by his imperial titulature. The portrait is modelled in moderate relief typical of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage of the early Hadrianic period. |
