| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the distinctive Alexandrian style. The imperial effigy displays characteristic short curled hair and beard typical of Hadrianic portraiture. A crescent symbol is placed to the right of the bust in the field. The surrounding legend in Greek characters reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ - ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Autocrator Caesar Trajanus Hadrianus Sebastos. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for hammered provincial coinage of this period. |
