Obverse description Laureate head of the Emperor Hadrian facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. A crescent symbol appears to the right of the portrait in the field. The surrounding legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΤΡΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ ϹΕΒ, abbreviating the emperor's imperial titulature in Greek script. The portrait displays the characteristic bearded effigy of Hadrian as established on coinage from his reign onward. The flan is irregular, as is typical of hammered provincial issues from the Alexandrian mint.
