Reverse description Draped bust of Sarapis facing left, crowned with the distinctive tall kalathos (modius), a symbol of his divine authority over fertility and the underworld. A sceptre is visible rising behind the bust. The regnal year date L Ϛ (Year 6, corresponding to 242–243 AD) appears in the field to the left. The design is rendered in the typical bold, somewhat schematic style of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage, enclosed within a dotted border.
