Reverse description The Phoenix, legendary bird of eternity, stands facing right at centre field, its head surmounted by a radiate nimbus rendered as a sunburst crown. The bird's plumage is shown in stylised relief with detailed feathering on the wings and body. The type alludes to the concept of AION — eternal cyclical time — a prominent religious and political motif in Alexandrian coinage of the early Antonine period. The date formula L Β (Year 2) appears in the left and right fields respectively, flanking the figure, with ΑΙΩΝ inscribed above.
