| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with a boldly modelled laureate head. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his titles Sebastos (Augustus) and Eusebes (Pius). The portrait occupies the majority of the flan, with the legend distributed around the periphery. |
