Reverse description A seated figure, identified as the personification of Mount Argaeus or a river deity, reclines to the left upon rocky ground, holding a branch in the right hand and a globe in the left. The figure is rendered in a loose provincial style with light drapery across the lower body. The Greek legend naming Caesarea as metropolis runs around the field, and the regnal year ΙΔ (year 14, corresponding to 206 AD) appears in the exergue below a ground line. A beaded border frames the entire composition.
