Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Balbinus facing right, depicted in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The Greek imperial legend encircles the effigy, reading Α Κ ΔΕΚ ΚΑΙΛ ΒΑΛΒΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with strong facial modelling and radiate-adjacent laureate crown. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial coinage of the mid-third century AD.
