Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the robust, military style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage of the Severan era. The obverse legend in Greek letters encircles the bust within a beaded border.

The regnal year date appears in the right field, and the composition is set against a plain field within a beaded border.
