| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus Thrax facing right, seen from the rear in the Alexandrian provincial style. The emperor's strong facial features are rendered in high relief, with the laureate wreath clearly articulated. The encircling Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan. The portrait conveys the military authority characteristic of Maximinus's imperial imagery on Alexandrian tetradrachms. |
