Obverse description Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder truncation. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic bearded portrait rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative case. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the dark patina typical of Alexandrian billon tetradrachms of this period.
