Obverse description Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing left, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style, with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan. The portrait exhibits the characteristic slightly idealized features associated with Antonine imperial iconography.

Reverse description Euthenia, personification of abundance, stands to the left of the composition facing right, extending a wreath in her right hand. To her right, the river god Nilus is depicted seated left upon rocky ground, holding a reed and cornucopia; a crocodile, emblematic of the Nile, climbs up the rocks beside him. The regnal date appears in the left field. The scene is a hallmark type of Alexandrian coinage celebrating the prosperity of Egypt under Roman imperial rule.
