Obverse description Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, with elaborately coiffed hair arranged in waves and drawn up at the back in the distinctive Antonine style. The effigy is rendered in fine relief characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The legend ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ runs in the field around the portrait, identifying her as Augusta. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered billon tetradrachms struck at the Alexandria mint.
