Obverse description Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius facing left, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder. The emperor is portrayed in the conventional Antonine style, with a finely rendered wreath of laurel encircling the head. The surrounding Greek legend identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature. The coin's surface shows typical patination consistent with Alexandrian billon tetradrachm coinage of the period.
