Reverse description Athena seated left upon a high-backed throne, holding a small Nike in her extended right hand and a long spear upright in her left; a large round shield rests against the left side of the throne. The regnal year date in the left field, rendered as L Ε (Year 5, corresponding to AD 241–242), follows standard Alexandrian dating convention. The composition reflects the Hellenistic artistic tradition maintained in provincial coinage of Roman Egypt.
