Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal view, displaying the characteristic Alexandrian portrait style with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical billon patination consistent with Alexandrian provincial coinage of the third century AD.
