Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal view. The cuirass is adorned with a gorgoneion at the centre of the breastplate, a distinctive Alexandrian iconographic feature. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. The surrounding legend is in Greek and reads Α Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ ΕΥ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature.

Reverse description Tyche, the personification of Fortune, reclines leftward upon a garlanded ceremonial couch or kline. She holds a ship's rudder in one hand, symbolising providence and navigation of fate, while raising her other arm toward her head in a gesture of repose. The reverse field is largely plain, with the regnal year notation L Ϛ (Year 6, corresponding to 242–243 AD) prominently placed, consistent with the Alexandrian tetradrachm dating convention.
