Reverse description Nilus reclines to the left, crowned with a lotus wreath, holding a reed in his right hand and a cornucopia in his left, from which a Genius emerges to crown Nilus with a wreath. Three small Genii (Nilotic putti) climb playfully up his legs to the right. To the left stands a nilometer alongside a further Genius figure. The scene is a characteristic Alexandrian representation of the Nile's annual inundation and its attendant blessings.
