| Obverse description | Radiate and draped bust of Maximian facing right, wearing a radiate crown with multiple spikes, the effigy rendered in the late Roman provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. The emperor is depicted with a short beard and paludamentum (military cloak) visible at the truncation. The Greek legend ΜΑΞΙΜΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ (Maximianus Augustus) surrounds the portrait within a beaded border. |
