Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, with finely rendered beard and hair. The imperial effigy is portrayed in the Alexandrian provincial style, with the laurel wreath clearly articulated across the brow. The Greek legend ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ (Antoninus Sebastos Eusebes) runs around the periphery. The portrait exhibits the characteristic mature features of the emperor, consistent with the later years of his reign.
