Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the imperial effigy in Greek characters, reading ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his title Sebastos (Augustus) and the epithet Eusebes (Pius). The portraiture follows the standard Alexandrian workshop convention for this regnal year, with characteristic softly rendered facial features.
