Reverse description Tyche of Alexandria depicted reclining to the left upon an ornate couch or kline, wearing a kalathos (modius) upon her head. Her right hand rests upon a rudder, the symbolic attribute of the city's maritime fortune, while her body reclines in a relaxed pose. Below the couch, the regnal date legend L ΙΖ (Year 17, corresponding to 153–154 AD) is inscribed in the exergual field. The reverse design is rendered in the bold, somewhat simplified relief typical of Alexandrian billon tetradrachms of the Antonine period.
