| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, wearing the paludamentum over the left shoulder, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style characteristic of the mid-second century AD. The emperor's portrait exhibits the full beard and idealized mature features typical of his coinage. The Greek legend ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ (Antoninus Augustus Pius) runs around the periphery of the field. |
