Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius, wearing paludamentum, facing right. The emperor's effigy is rendered in the local Alexandrian style, with a broad laurel wreath and a bearded portrait. The peripheral Greek legend reads ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor as Augustus and Pius.

Reverse description Asclepius, the god of medicine, standing facing with head turned right, draped in a himation. He holds a patera extended over a small lighted altar at his side, and a serpent-entwined staff (caduceus-type) in his other hand. The field carries the regnal date legend L ΚΑ (Year 21), corresponding to the 21st year of Antoninus Pius's reign, equivalent to 157–158 AD.
