Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Lucius Verus facing right, with slight traces of drapery visible at the shoulder truncation. The emperor is portrayed with his characteristic full, curly beard and thick, tightly-curled hair rendered in the Antonine style. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the dynamic, three-dimensional sculptural quality typical of Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage of the period.
