| Obverse description | Draped bust of Faustina II facing right, with elaborately waved and braided hair arranged in coils at the nape of the neck, rendered in the characteristic Antonine portraiture style. The empress is depicted with bare neck and shoulders visible above the drapery. The Greek legend ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝ ϹΕΒ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ ΘΥΓ surrounds the effigy, identifying her as Faustina Augusta, daughter of the pious Augustus. |
