Reverse description Draped bust of Nilus facing right, the river god crowned with a taenia and lotus-buds in the characteristic Alexandrian tradition symbolising the life-giving waters of the Nile. A cornucopia appears before the bust, emblematic of abundance and fertility. The reverse field is otherwise plain, with the regnal date legend L ΙΖ (Year 17) placed prominently, corresponding to the seventeenth year of Antoninus Pius's reign.
