| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and bearded bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, with finely rendered curling hair beneath the laurel wreath and a short beard characteristic of his portraiture. The effigy displays strong, individualized facial features executed in the provincial Greek style. The encircling Greek legend runs along the right field and periphery of the flan. The overall composition is typical of Cappadocian provincial coinage struck in Hadrian's name. |
