Obverse description Bare, laureate head of Drusus the Elder (Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus) facing right, rendered in high relief with naturalistic portraiture characteristic of Julio-Claudian coinage. The wreath of laurel is clearly articulated, with individual leaves visible around the brow. The encircling Latin legend reads NERO CLAVD DRVSVS GERMANICVS IMP, arranged around the periphery of the flan.
