Reverse description Athena, draped and helmeted, seated left upon a throne, extending a small Nike figure in her right hand and holding a long spear upright in her left hand; a round shield rests below the throne at her feet. The date regnal formula L Γ (Year 3) appears in the field, flanking the seated figure to left and right respectively, consistent with the Alexandrian dating convention. The composition reflects the Hellenistic artistic tradition prevalent in Alexandrian provincial coinage of the third century AD.
