| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Sabina facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and secured with a diadem, with a characteristic long plait descending the nape of the neck in the distinctive Hadrianic court style. The effigy is rendered in high relief with careful attention to the drapery folds at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend ϹΑΒΕΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ identifies the empress as Augusta. The flan is irregular, as is typical of provincial hammered coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | Nude Aphrodite kneeling to the right upon a low plinth or rocky ground, her head turned back to the left, holding a hand mirror raised in her left hand and her right arm extended forward. The goddess is depicted in a crouching or semi-kneeling posture reminiscent of the Hellenistic Crouching Aphrodite type. The encircling legend around the periphery reads ΑΜΙϹΟΥ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΑϹ ΕΤΟΥϹ ΡΞΘ, identifying the issuing city of free Amisus and dating the issue to civic year 169, corresponding to 137–138 AD. The reverse field is plain, with a beaded border visible on portions of the flan. |
