Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Diocletian facing right, viewed from the front, with detailed rendering of the imperial armor. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΔΙΟΚΛΗΤΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, distributed around the periphery of the coin within a beaded border. The portrait displays the characteristic late Roman provincial style of the Alexandrian mint, with boldly modeled facial features.
