Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Carinus facing right, presented in three-quarter frontal view, with radiate crown visible and prominent drapery over the cuirass. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical Alexandrian style of the late third century, with bold, slightly rough die-cutting characteristic of the mint. The encircling Greek legend reads Α Κ Μ Α ΚΑΡΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his titles in the field around the portrait.
