| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with a small aegis visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the characteristic Hellenistic-Roman provincial style. The emperor is depicted with his distinctive short beard, a hallmark of Hadrianic portraiture. The obverse legend, inscribed in Greek characters, surrounds the imperial effigy within a beaded border. The portrait displays fine detail in the laurel wreath and hair treatment, consistent with the artistic standards of the Pontic civic mint at Amisus. |
